The lawful bases used are performing or preparing a contract, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating, understanding and protecting the business, and consent where required for particular uses of photographs.

Services that may process information

Information is only shared where necessary with relevant service providers, including:

  • Stripe for secure checkout, payments, contact and delivery details, receipts and payment records.
  • Google for Google Analytics and public Google Business Profile reviews.
  • Royal Mail or another agreed delivery provider where delivery details are needed to send a print.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, JYS Photos relies on the provider's applicable contractual and legal safeguards for international transfers.

Payments and order records

Stripe collects and stores checkout contact, delivery and payment information. JYS Photos does not receive or store your full card number. JYS Photos keeps limited order records containing Stripe Checkout and payment references, payment and fulfilment statuses, and relevant timestamps; these records do not contain your checkout contact, delivery or card details.

Cookies and local storage

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to provide essential shopping features and understand how the website is used.

How long information is kept

Enquiries are retained while they are needed to respond and manage any resulting customer relationship. Order and transaction records are retained for fulfilment, customer service, accounting and the periods required by applicable law. Photographs and booking records are retained according to the service agreed with the client and any continuing portfolio permission. Information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer reasonably required.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to its use. Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful use.

Photography copyright

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, JYS Photos retains copyright in all photographs captured by Jonathan Somarib. Purchasing a print, digital image or photography service does not transfer copyright; any permitted use is governed by the licence or usage terms agreed for the purchase or booking.

Prints are supplied for personal display only. Reproduction, publication, promotional use, business use or any other commercial use of the photograph requires prior written agreement from JYS Photos.
